This April marks the 13th annual National Donate Life Month, a celebration commemorating those who have given the gift of life through organ and tissue donation. For those whose lives have been saved or healed by a transplant, National Donate Life Month provides a chance to share their story to encourage more people to register as donors.

The Face of the Patient Experience April 3 – 9, 2016

Patient Access Week acknowledges the unique contribution a Patient Access Registrar has on the patient experience. Patient Access Registrars are the first person patients and visitors encounter at Cottage Hospital. These dedicated staff members fill the roles of receptionists, registration, insurance verification, financial counseling, and scheduling within the organization.


Cottage Hospital Recognizes Employees

trioDrLyons-200x164The Medical Staff, Board of Trustees, Volunteers and Auxiliary of Cottage Hospital recently joined the Hospital staff for an evening of celebration at the Mountain View Grand Resort in Whitefield, NH. The annual event is opportunity to recognize the years of service of employees and pay tribute to the quality and dedicated work of the staff through the year.

This year’s awards banquet featured the special recognition of long time employee and provider Dr. Gerry Lyons.  Lyons, has committed his medical career to caring for the patients in the Upper Connecticut River Valley, with over a thirty-year tenure in the areas of Primary Care, Emergency Medicine and Gastroenterology.

Cottage Hospital Leadership, project architect, Roger Dignard and Trumbull Nelson Leadership at the groundbreaking.

Cottage Hospital has partnered with Trumbull-Nelson Construction Company from Hanover, NH to bring the Rowe Health Center to the community. The building’s namesake, Dr. Harry Rowe, was a long time physician with over sixty years dedicated to his profession, his patients, and his community. He played an intricate role in recruiting and stabilizing the healthcare needs to the Cottage Hospital service area.

Hospital Has Agreements With All 5 Insurers in the NH Healthcare Marketplace

Maria Ryan, PhD, APRN, Chief Executive Officer of Cottage Hospital has announced that the hospital has reached agreements with all five insurers participating in the 2015 New Hampshire health insurance marketplace. The five insurers are Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Assurant Health, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Minuteman Health, and Maine Community Health Options.


Cottage Hospital Named A Top Critical Access Hospital in the U.S.

In the letter to Maria Ryan, PhD, Cottage Hospital’s CEO, announcing the award, Brock Slabach of NRHA wrote, “Your facility has merited a Top 20 Best Quality designation…The National Rural Health Association considers your organization to be an exemplar of best practices in all of rural health care.
