Dr. Wilton is a national educator and lecturer. He is a driving force behind advancing the formation and education of peripheral nerve surgeons through basic and advanced training courses, and hands-on surgical interventions. In addition, Dr. Wilton facilitates ongoing medical and surgical mission trips to perform peripheral nerve/orthopedic surgery in Ecuador, South America.
Dr. Wilton received his doctorate from Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, PA, followed by surgical residency at Montgomery Hospital in Norristown, PA. He is a current board member of the Association of Extremity Nerve Surgeons. Dr. Wilton serves as the Surgical Missions Director for the Fr. Damien Foundation of Guayaquil, Ecuador, having completed 17 mission trips to date. He was named “Top Doctor in New Hampshire” by New Hampshire Magazine in 2008, as well as receiving the prestigious Dr. Jules Tinel Award by the Association of Extremity Nerve Surgeons in 2011.
When asked to comment about joining the Cottage Hospital team, Dr. Wilton said, “I would just like to say that I am very excited to be joining the medical community at Cottage Hospital. My goals in coming here are to develop a foot and ankle surgical-based practice with a subspecialty of interest in peripheral nerve surgery for this area of New Hampshire. I am excited at the fact that these services are not currently offered, and I feel that over time this will be an excellent service line for Cottage Hospital. The reception that I have received from administration, medical staff, surgical services staff and ancillary clinic staff has been very genuine and sincere. I am looking forward to a very long relationship in providing foot, ankle and peripheral nerve surgical services at Cottage Hospital and the surrounding northern New Hampshire and Vermont region.”
