We are so proud to announce Cottage Hospital has been designated as a level 4 trauma center! Our team has worked diligently to ensure our facility and staff pass the Verification Process, as well as the Designation Process. Receiving this designation allows us to provide a great service to our local communities. 

As a level 4 trauma center, Cottage is dedicated to complying with state requirements for high-quality care of trauma patients received at Cottage Hospital.  This includes providing high-quality care in our emergency department following evidence-based trauma care. 

We also can and do provide surgical services when required, both with general surgery and orthopedics, as well as inpatient monitoring as needed.  As part of the trauma designation, we are also required to review each and every trauma to evaluate the care we provided, ensure that we provided the best care, and help identify process improvements.  We provide ongoing education related to the trauma patient's care for our staff and local EMS services.

For 120 years, Cottage Hospital has served the residents of the Upper Connecticut Valley. Today, Cottage Hospital is a level IV  Trauma Center and modern 35-bed Critical Access Hospital that has been recognized for providing exemplary care.
