Services:
Lifeline was designed to enable individuals to keep their independence and stay living in their own home. Should an emergency arise, help is available with the touch of a button.
Here’s how it works:
The Lifeline Response System is activated when the subscriber pushes the Personal Help Button. The Personal Help Button may be worn around the neck on an adjustable decorative chain, or on the wrist using a wrist band. The button is completely waterproof, and may be worn in the rain, in the shower or tub, or even while swimming!
When the button is pushed it activates the in-home unit called the Communicator. The Communicator automatically dials the Lifeline Response Center. In less than two minutes a Lifeline monitor comes over the speaker and attempts to talk with the subscriber over the Lifeline. (The Communicator is equipped with a sensitive speakerphone.) If the subscriber is able to speak and indicates what assistance is needed, the monitor will send the requested help.
If the subscriber is unable to speak, or is too far away to be heard, a responder, selected in advance by the subscriber, will be called. (Responders are usually neighbors or friends that live nearby.) Lifeline will ask them to go over and check on the subscriber. If a responder cannot be contacted, or cannot respond immediately, local Emergency Services are notified.
Other types of buttons or switches are available for physically challenged individuals.
Lifeline is there for you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. There is no long-term commitment or purchase requirement.
