EMPLOYEE OF THE FOURTH QUARTER NAMED AT COTTAGE HOSPITAL

Joanne Pierson has been chosen as Cottage Hospital’s Employee of the Fourth Quarter for 2009. Joanne joined the Cottage Hospital Team in January of 2001 as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Medical, Surgical & Pediatric Department.
A co-worker nominated Joanne for this honor stating, “…Joanne Pierson is a very kind, caring, and compassionate nurse. She has a heart of gold and possesses excellent people skills. She always puts her patients first. Joanne demonstrates compassion and empathy with patients and helps to address their concerns and calm their fears. She is a team player who will go out of her way to help any patient or co-worker when the need arises. Joanne is an excellent resource and role model for the new nurses, as well as the more experienced ones. She initiated and oversees the Wound Care Team twice a month and has made it possible for the Med Surg staff to be able to treat extensive wounds with the appropriate tools and supplies required. Joanne is an outstanding co-worker who deserves the recognition of “Employee of the Quarter.”
